The Viisi Startersbarometer: via research PR to thought leadership
With the help of the Viisi Startersbarometer, a periodic survey that Viisi Mortgage chain has prepared together with us, the advice chain has become a thought leader in the field of (start-up) mortgages, among others.
About Viisi Mortgages
Viisi Hypotheken specialises in independent mortgage advice and assists many starters and young professionals in buying a home. In doing so, the originally Amsterdam-based mortgage advice chain focuses on sustainability and the long term, adopting a #peoplefirst strategy. This means that its own employees come first, followed by customers and then shareholders.
Viisi's challenge: to become the knowledge partner for starters
Viisi Mortgages has grown steadily in recent years. Thanks to its focus on being a good employer, the mortgage advice chain was even voted the best employer in the Netherlands for the third time in a row in 2021. Partly because of this, it has no shortage of media attention, at least when it comes to HR-related topics. We were engaged to give Viisi Hypotheken more national visibility and brand awareness in the field of (starter) mortgages over the longer term, both towards the press, clients, mortgage lenders and other industry peers.
Our approach: periodic research & press lobbying
We launched a periodic (quarterly) survey to become the standard reference work on the position of first-time buyers on the Dutch housing market: the Viisi Startersbarometer. The key question is whether first-time buyers think they will be able to buy a house in the coming quarter. Based on the survey results, we write a quarterly press release, which we offer to our media relations in the mortgage and housing market domain. Individual results from the survey are additionally used by the mortgage advice chain for content blogs in their personal capacity.

The result: more than 151 million readers reached
In 2021, 152 unique articles were published in response to the Starters Barometer, accounting for more than 151 million unique readers. Co-founder and expert on mortgages Hergen Dutrieux was interviewed by Nieuwsuur, Het Financieele Dagblad, BNR Nieuwsradio and De Telegraaf, among others.
